Brit is a 22 year old, Communication (Digital Media) student at the University of Queensland (UQ).
Relatively new to the city, Brit moved to Brisbane from her country home town of Inverell in New South Wales at the beginning of 2017. She spent the three years prior studying Media and Communication part-time through the University of New England, while working full-time.
During Year 12, Brit’s interest in writing culminated in an 8,000 word short story for her English Extension 2 major project, entitled The Waiting Room. A positive reception of her work encouraged Brit to pursue her writing abilities at university level.
Since commencing her studies at UQ, Brit has taken advantage of a number of opportunities to both develop her writing and publish her work. This includes the creation of a professional digital profile for a fellow student, the production of content for UQ’s offical social media platforms, and working as part of a team to create and present a PR campaign to the UQ Art Museum’s senior management.
Self-disciplined, diligent, and armed with a quick wit, Brit is a focused and creative individual motivated by her own high expectations. With her mind open to an array of future career possibilities, she hopes to use her time at university to become as versatile in the communication field as possible.
Outside of writing, Brit also enjoys traveling, eating a bowl of cereal for dinner, and updating her dog’s Instagram account.
